Brian Friend

     Originally from New York City, Brian has made his home in San Diego, and now Carlsbad since he was a college kid. He has been intensely playing the guitar for over 30 years and is heavily influenced by the styles of Clarence White, Tony Rice and Kenny Smith to name a few.  He manages the Clarence White Forum, ( and installs B bender systems in guitars as a sideline, .  Go ahead, try and stump Brian and ask him any question about Clarence White and the early formation of the Byrds!

     His playing is soulful and powerful as he flat-picks his way up and down the neck of his Don Wilson, Custom built D-28. He is inventive and original in his playing with his leads, riffs and rhythm. Brian brings lead vocals and harmonies to many of the bands songs and he has played and performed with several bluegrass bands in the San Diego area. Brian is an electrical engineer and he is married and has two children.
